Topic: I am fan of Norman Jean Roys work. Norman Jean Roy creates amazing photographs/images. Although this is a mix of fashion, designers, Vogue business practices and behind the scenes of creating content for the magazine, this has rich clips of Norman Jean Roy working. These are the things other photographs should see. The work, the locations, the clothes, photographers in motion (see him on 4 wheeler, shooting model on horse), and other areas on a complex shoot. Enjoy!
Topic: Norman Jean Roy behind the scenes on Vanity Fair shoot. Although not edited like a slick film, it is a real example of using outdoor lighting, backdrops, set up, and shoot equipment. Something I noticed is Katherine Heigle has her eyes closed in certain clips. This is a common trick I use to keep eyes clear, and models happy. I ask models to often close their eyes, if the sun is very bright for their comfort. Sometimes the sun hurts the models eyes (sensitivity). When I have my lighting and shot set up, and ready, I will then direct the model with, “Okay, open your eyes.” Click!

Another example of beautiful photojournalism. Although an extremely sad and angering topic of genocide, starvation and crisis of a peoples, the beauty of her photographs engage viewers. The message does not need words. Photographs do inspire change. This is another example of taking photography, photojournalism and art, swirling them together for a perfect result. Art speaks to everyone.
